Give Us A Kiss is een plaat waarop alle kwaliteiten van de band meer dan ooit volledig tot hun recht komen.

Wisten de Scram C-babies op voorgaande platen nog wel ‘ns te verhullen hoe goed ze daadwerkelijk zijn. Omdat er iets te veel ideeën op stonden, of omdat het bij vlagen net te rauw of raar was. Deze keer zal zelfs de slechte verstaander moeten erkennen dat we hier met een van de beste bands van de Benelux van doen hebben. Het zit er allemaal in: songs, sound en soul.

De gekte en speelsheid zijn er –godzijdank- nog steeds, maar worden in strakke banen geleid. Deze keer heeft de band net zo lang muziek en ruzie gemaakt tot de twaalf uitverkoren liedjes (ondanks de grote variatie) konden worden samengeperst tot één brok graniet. Grof en verfijnd, bontgekleurd,…enfin zoek de kenmerken van dit gesteente rustig op in een naslagwerk: ze zijn allen van toepassing op Give Us A Kiss.

Het is nog steeds onmiskenbaar Scram C Baby zoals in Soul Marinera, Treehouse en Kill Screen, maar deze plaat zou voor de band zo maar eens wat deuren kunnen openen. In de hoofden van dj’s, muzieksamenstellers en andere luisteraars.
