De druiven voor de Lomond-wijnen groeien op een unieke plaats in Zuid-Afrika, namelijk in het Cape Floral Kingdom. Dit gebied staat bekend om zijn enorme biodiversiteit. Niet alleen de duizenden verschillende plantensoorten profiteren van de eeuwenoude bodems, maar ook de druiven. Cape Agulhas ligt in het uiterste zuiden van Zuid-Afrika, daar waar de Atlantische en Indische Oceaan elkaar ontmoeten. Koele zeewind zorgt voor een lang rijpingsseizoen waarin aroma's, zuur en suiker zich geleidelijk en evenwichtig kunnen ontwikkelen. Dit klimaat samen met de unieke bodem en deskundige wijnmakers leidt tot een verrukkelijke terroirwijn waarin minerale tonen, licht exotische aroma's van limoen, typische sauvignonkenmerken van kruisbes en asperge elkaar spannend afwisselen. Rijk, rond en vief.Sauvignon Blanc op zijn best! Sappig en verfrissend met een zachte, opwekkende afdronk. In de neus rabarber, kruisbes en het tintelfrisse van peterselie en limoengras. In de smaak worden de geurige aroma's aangevuld met ingetogen tonen van exotisch fruit en het spannende bittertje van zoete grapefruit. Vol op een verrukkelijke, verfijnde, evenwichtige wijze.Vol en verfijnd met aroma's van exotisch fruit, kruisbes, asperge en mineralen. Zacht met in de afdronk fris citrusfruit.Rijk aperitief, bij verfijnde amuses en sushi. Schaal- en schelpdieren: kreeft, oesters. Vis: salades met vis, viscarpaccio met groene kruiden. Pasta met vis, paella, goed gevulde vissoep. Salades met kip of ander gevogelte.Sugarbush wijngaard ligt op 85 à 110 meter hoogte in Cape Agulhas, op de Kaapse punt waar de Indische en Atlantische Oceaan elkar ontmoeten. De streek staat bekend om zijn duizelingwekkende biodiversiteit waarvan meer dan tienduizend plantensoorten en ook de druiven profiteren. low quality; not as advertised
Low quality. The wood has an unpleasant smell, even after initial washing and thorough drying followed by extensive seasoning. Several of the surfaces of the boards were rough. One board was gouged on the bottom (I typically use both sides of the cutting board). Another board had a small amount of wood filler on the bottom. I was forced to sand most of the surfaces in order to smooth them before I seasoned them.
There are gaps in the stand where boards join that are not filled.
The boards are purported to be pre-oiled, but I didn't see any evidence of that.
The "detachable non-slip rubber feet" are not attached and are a little too hard to be "non-slip". If you want to attach the feet then you are on your own - there are no pilot holes and the screws are not self-tapping. The screws have a conical, tapered head and so they do not match well to the feet - a washer-head screw would be the correct type of fit.
Lastly, I don't know my wood types that well, but furniture and cutting board acacia is said to be significantly harder than oak. These cutting boards do not strike me as being as hard as my old oak cutting board.

Lies
Update! They are cracking and falling apart already with barely being used and careful care. Complete waste of money.
Original review: These are horrible, as far as the smell and not being properly sanded. They aren't pre-oiled like they claimed either. Not worth what you pay for them.

Sturdy cutting boards!
These cutting boards work great and are sturdy. They lose color quickly but re oiling them will help that. Good product.
