Inspired by folklorist Alan Lomax, the 78 Project celebrates the artistry and craft that captured America's musical forms of a century ago, exploring the deep historical significance of American Folk songs in the process. With just one microphone, one authentic 1930s Presto recorder, and one blank acetate disc, musicians are given a single, three-minute take to cut a 78 RPM record, finding in that adventure a new connection to our cultural legacy. Adequate for our use.....

The book arrived a week before expected and they were true to their evaluation that this was a used book in "acceptable condition". It was once a library book and has been well loved. Someone has taken contact paper to try to salvage the cover and binding. It looks rumply, but we were getting this for a 1 year old whose Dad is going to go to Heavy Equipment School for the next 4 years, so this will be a fine book for a little guy as the insides look fine.....I wouldn't have been happy if I'd wanted a new looking book, but the price was very reasonable. I think it was $3.99 for shipping and a penny for the book. SUCHA DEAL!

Great Book!
Format: Hardcover
We bought this book a year ago for our then almost three-year-old. He loves it. As does his older sister (8), and brother (6) and his younger brother (almost 2). It has held up amazingly well considering the amount or use and abuse it gets. I love that it tells actual names and functions. More than once we've seen a machine while driving around town, then come home and looked it up. Well worth the money.

This book came in time for my grandson's birthday. It is FANTASTIC! It is large, colorful and has gatefold pages (which I didn't realize). He loves it and we love reading it to him.
