Proper nutrition is essential for enhancing the stunning colors of Koi. A significant amount of spirulina microalgae in the diet promotes color saturation and clarity, ensuring that color zones are well-defined. White areas remain bright without any undesirable yellow tint.
Spirulina provides over 50% protein content, includes all essential amino acids, and is rich in unsaturated fatty acids. Additionally, these algae are packed with various vitamins and minerals. Specifically, astaxanthin boosts colors, particularly in red areas. This pigment, similar to vitamins, bolsters the immune system, acts as an antioxidant, and supports reproductive health. Only the natural, highly bioavailable form of astaxanthin is incorporated into sera feed, primarily sourced from Haematococcus algae (60.5 mg of astaxanthin per kg of feed). Moreover, ingredients like krill and spirulina also contribute to the intake of astaxanthin and other vital pigments.
Koi Professional Color is made up of two parts: a feeding ring and a feeding core. This is achieved through a unique co-extrusion process that enables the combination of differently processed components. The ring features high-quality natural ingredients such as spirulina and Haematococcus, ensuring vibrant colors and appropriate nutrition. The core contains essential vitamins, minerals, and trace elements necessary for healthy growth and robust immune function.
Colored feed can be provided year-round when water temperatures are above 8°C.
