"While Windchaser gets off to a bit of a slow start, Achak does a wonderful job of introducing the spirituality and deeply introspective nature of Kieran in those beginning chapters, and by the end of the first conversation between Tessa and Kieran I was hooked. I desperately wanted to see where the bond between the two adventurers would go, and the dynamic personality of Tessa in particular of a strong outer shell with the core of a little girl that just wants to be strong tugs at heartstrings and is a refreshing break from copy-pasted "strong female characters" of many books of this day and age. Windchaser is a strong start for an up-and-coming author and I look forward to seeing more of both Kieran and Tessa, and Achak herself, as their story goes on."
