The first book to focus exclusively on Hokusai's landscapes, by one of the world's leading ukiyo-e specialists

The best known of all Japanese artists, Katsushika Hokusai was active as a painter, book illustrator and print designer throughout his 90-year lifespan. Yet his most famous works--the color woodblock landscape prints issued in series--were produced within a relatively short time, in an amazing burst of creative energy that lasted from about 1830 to 1836.

Hokusai's landscapes revolutionized Japanese printmaking and became icons of world art within a few decades of the artist's death. Hokusai's Landscapes focuses exclusively on this pivotal body of the artist's work, the first book to do so. Featuring stunning color reproductions of works from the incomparable Japanese art collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (the largest collection of Japanese prints outside Japan), Hokusai's Landscapes examines the magnetic appeal of Hokusai's designs and the circumstances of their creation.

The book includes all published prints of the artist's eight major landscape series: Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji (1830-32), A Tour of Waterfalls in Various Provinces (1833-34), Snow, Moon and Flowers (1833), Eight Views of the Ryukyu Islands (1832-33), One Thousand Pictures of the Ocean (1832-33), Remarkable Views of Bridges in Various Provinces (1834), A True Mirror of Chinese and Japanese Poetry (1833) and One Hundred Poems Explained by the Nurse (1835).

Working prolifically in the years just before Japan opened to the West in 1853, Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) was the first Japanese artist to be internationally recognized. His cleverly composed ukiyo-e prints of everyday life and the landscapes of Edo Japan arrived in a 19th-century Europe gripped by Japonisme-mania, where they influenced artists such as Degas, Gauguin, Manet and Van Gogh.--John Stucky "ARLIS/NA Reviews"

Perfect balance of softness and durability for everyday use.
Style: 400 Count
Great everyday napkins – good value for the price I’ve been buying Vanity Fair Everyday napkins for a while now, and they’re perfect for daily use. They’re soft enough to feel comfortable but still strong and absorbent. They don’t fall apart easily, even with messy meals or spills. The value pack is especially convenient and lasts a long time, which makes it a great option for families or regular use. They’re not overly thick like premium dinner napkins, but for everyday meals, lunches, or kids’ snacks, they work perfectly. Overall, a reliable, affordable choice that I keep reordering.

Multi use…
Style: 200 Count, Style: 200 Count
I love these Vanity Fair Napkins. They fit perfectly in my counter dispenser. They are a nice, attractive napkin whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And they are at a good price point. But truth be told, they come in handy when you have a cold. Grab a handful and take along with you for blowing your nose. They are stronger than bath tissue, yet softer than a paper towel and strong enough for all your congestion.

Reliable and High-Quality for Daily Use
Style: 400 Count, Style: 400 Count
These napkins have a great weight to them. They are surprisingly thick, which adds to their sturdiness—they don't fall apart the moment they get slightly damp like cheaper brands. The size is perfect for everyday meals. Because they are soft yet strong, they are a breeze for ease of use, whether you're cleaning up a quick spill or just setting the table. The bright white color looks clean and classic, making them versatile enough for both casual lunches and nicer dinners. With the 400-count value pack, you really get excellent value for money. It’s much more convenient to buy in bulk so you aren't constantly running back to the store.

Great Quality and Value for Everyday Use!
Style: 400 Count, Style: 400 Count
I’m really happy with these napkins! The Vanity Fair Everyday Napkins 2‑Ply (400 Count) are soft, durable, and perfect for everyday meals. They are strong enough to handle spills without tearing easily, which makes them great for family dinners and quick clean-ups. I also love the value pack — having 400 napkins means they last a long time and I don’t have to keep buying more every week. The quality is much better than many basic napkins, but still very affordable. Overall, these are reliable, practical, and a great addition to any kitchen. I would definitely purchase them again!

Good quantity and quality suitable for daily use
Style: 400 Count, Style: 400 Count
I bought the 400-unit Vanity Fair Everyday napkin pack and it seemed like a practical option for daily use at home. The package comes well sealed and the napkins have a standard size that works well for both fast meals and family dinners. They are resistant enough to clean small spills and do not break easily when used. They also have a soft texture to the touch, which makes them comfortable for daily use. I like that the package is large, since it yields a lot and avoids having to buy so often. In general, I think it is a good option if you are looking for a functional napkin, with a good presentation and a convenient amount for the home.
