山梔子是台灣最美麗的黃色,從台中、南投、彰化、嘉義到台南都有種植。

可惜的是,那些梔子被採收後不在台灣用,都是出口的。

梔子可以染布,也能添加在食品中是非常安全的天然染料,但目前都被台灣逐漸淡了。

早時台灣的夏天,街上常見賣著的亮黃色粉粿,淋上精心熬煮的糖漿、加點碎冰很清涼,是有著台灣特色的庶民甜點,如今那美麗的亮黃色卻用黃色4號色素替代了。

令人遺憾的是,這麼美麗的天然黃染,身在產地的我們卻無緣使用⋯

亮黃色粉粿作法

材料:300克粉粿粉、1000cc冷水、5克山梔子果實

做法:1.先取500cc冷水攪拌粉粿粉成粉漿。

2.另取500cc冷水放入5公克山梔子煮沸。

3.待水沸騰,山梔子將水染黃,將果實撈出丟棄。

4.轉小火,把粉漿徐徐邊攪拌邊慢慢倒入黃水中。

5.持續攪拌直到水被收乾(成不均勻半透明也沒關係)

6.將半透明粉粿置入電鍋中蒸5分鐘。

7.待其全部變透明,冷卻後即可切塊食用。

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
