As part of the pursuit after Imphal and Kohima, the Rhino's task was to clear the Kabaw Valley and establish a bridgehead over the mighty Chindwin river. This also involved fighting through the monsoon and building a road as they went. 'Mopping-up' operations against the Japanese inevitably resulted in some fierce engagements but the East Africans had the measure of their foe. After crossing the Chindwin - and setting a record - with a 1,100-foot pontoon Bailey Bridge, the Division was withdrawn to rest before its next campaign. This, thanks to the Japanese surrender, never came.
The original Rhino Review was published as a 10" x 14" magazine. This reprint has been scaled to 85% to fit an A4 format.
