It covers the deeds recorded between 1798 and 1814. For each instrument, book and page references, names of grantor and grantee, date of transaction, consideration, major waterways, landmarks, neighbors, tract history, witnesses and dates of record are included. Also encompasses many non-real estate transactions including personal property transfers, slave sales and sheriff deeds. A few marriage settlements are included with images of all plats as well as a complete name and place index. Invaluable to Marlboro County genealogical and historical research.

Larry W. Cates is a local history librarian in High Point, NC. He has extensive experience in genealogy, editing and speaking and has won numerous awards including Outstanding Contribution to NC Genealogy (NCGS) and the Filby Award for Genealogical Librarianship (NGS).
