How does it attach to a keychain?
Built-in keyring loop on one connector. The cable lives bent in a loop with the magnetic tips snapped together — looks like a small keyring accessory rather than a dangling cable.
Is 12 cm enough cable length?
For phone-to-power-bank charging, yes. For laptop-to-wall-charger, you'll want a longer cable. ChargeKey is positioned as the "emergency EDC" cable — always with you, fine for short connections, not the only cable in your life.
240W vs 100W — do I need it?
For typical phone/iPad charging, 100W is more than enough (iPhone 17 maxes around 30W). For 16" MacBook Pro full-speed charging, 140W+ is needed. The 240W rating is genuinely future-proof — supports any USB-C device on the market through 2030+.
Will the magnetic tips hold securely?
Yes — the magnets are strong enough that the cable stays as a coiled loop on your keychain through normal pocket movement. They release with a gentle pull when you want to use it.
ChargeKey vs Nomad's regular USB-C cables?
ChargeKey is the keychain-sized EDC option (12cm). Nomad's USB-C Cable Kevlar V3 (1m+) is for desk/travel use. ChargeKey trades length for portability; the regular cables trade portability for everyday usability. Many users have both — they don't replace each other.
